Justin's Cure is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Justin Hendler in honor of all those affected by Type 1 Diabetes. Although life took an unexpected turn at the age of 10, Justin continues his journey with perseverance and hope.
Hi. I am Justin Hendler, and on June 14, 2005, when I was ten, I was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes during a routine pediatric medical examination. Of course, I was scared. But with the help of my family and a great and gifted team of doctors and nurses at Columbia Medical Center, I faced the condition, started to understand it, and since then manage my life with diabetes. In fact, I even attended a sleep-away camp only six weeks after I was diagnosed. Today, 15 summers later, I try hard never to look back, never to think of why me, and to move forward. I am dedicated more than ever as each day passes to help kids adjust to life with Type I Diabetes. Through Justin's Cure, my family, my friends, and I raise money (one dollar at a time) to assist hospitals, universities, and research facilities in finding a cure, what perhaps will be called Justin's Cure.
All the fundings received will be used to promote, further, and support selected charitable activities through grants, funding, and financial assistance to various individuals, institutions, and organizations dedicated to the aid and the assistance of children diagnosed with Type I Diabetes.
